For me mediation is not about learning to still the mind and stopping thought but learning to focus the mind to find the stillness that is already there. It's in that stillness that I have found we can connect better with that little voice and sense its guidance with more clarity.
The mind always wants to be focused on something and it's what we are focusing on that matters, is your mind producing the results in your life that you want to see? If not it's about learning to train the mind to shift its focus.
By becoming more mindful and being more aware of our emotions, we learn to observe more clearly what we are feeling. It is usually in those uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and emotions that our biggest growth opportunity occurs, because they are showing us what we need to look at and change.
By learning to be more mindful, we learn to observe ourselves better. When we have a clearer idea of what needs to shift, we can use meditation to train the mind to focus on what we want it to and shift our energy to raise our vibration.
Meditation is so powerful because it gives us access to an altered state of consciousness. You are completely, absorbed and your focus is super concentrated. It's like using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun.
When your attention is more focused, you're more responsive to suggestions, and so it's in this state that you want to shift your thoughts.
Meditation is helpful because when you relax it slows down the brainwaves, and when your brain is in the alpha state, healing also takes place.
Meditation is often perceived as difficult, but it's really just about focusing your thoughts. If you can focus on worries and stress, you can also focus on peace and calm. Think about it-which one feels better? It's funny how we often dwell on what we don't want, and often end up with more of it.
When we meditate and relax, we access the alpha state and it's in this state that we have the ability to focus our energy with more clarity and direction and because energy follows our intention, when we learn to calm the mind and focus our thoughts we can direct our life force.
We are alive because a life force flows through us. This life force circulates within our physical body through pathways known as Chakras and Meridians. It also surrounds us in a field of energy referred to as the Aura. This life force not only nourishes our cells, tissues and organs, supporting their vital functions, but also has a profound impact on our daily lives and all that occurs within them.
We attract the frequency that we vibrate at.
When this flow of life force is disrupted, it can cause diminished function in one or more of the cells, tissues and organs of the physical body resulting in disease and illness and can also be the cause of any negativity or chaos we see in our life from day to day.
Like a river system with its tributaries, if a branch of a tributary becomes blocked, no water can flow through, and the plants along that system start to wither and die, Similarly within your body, mind and surroundings, if an energy center or energy pathway becomes blocked, energy cannot flow freely. This blockage can lead to disease, illness and negativity, signaling that the blockages need to be cleared to restore the natural flow of energy and elevate your frequency to its natural state. Our natural state is one of profound wellness on all levels- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Your life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings, vibrations and frequencies and it becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings which cause us to resonate on that lower frequency or vibration.
Low frequencies or vibrations decrease the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force.
High vibrations and frequencies vibrations increase the energy and restore the connection to this flow.
If you have ever felt negative, where you've had negative thoughts going round and round in your mind and then gotten ill, had a fight with someone and even had some bad news at the same time, this would be where energy has spiraled into negativity and you are vibrating at a low frequency and it has effected all levels of your well being but I'm sure you have also had a time where you felt fabulous, where things have fallen into place and on the same day you have had wonderful news and someone you love has shown you wonderful kindness, this shows what aligned energy looks like where your frequency has been raised. Good days and bad days are all indications of where our frequency is at and shows us how easily it can be changed. A bad mood to a good mood is only a shift in frequency, from one thought to another.
At our core, we are all made up of energy, which can be influenced by our thoughts, feelings and emotions.
As we learn to be more mindful and observe ourselves, we can better understand what needs to change and through meditation we train our minds to focus on what feels better, raising our vibration and connecting with the better version of ourselves.
